The Legends of Rakasa
Prologue: The Creation
"We took their land. They will come. We will need warriors. Nobody can know."
The Void. A place of damnation where all is gray. There is no pain, nor happiness. Emptiness abounds and consumes. This is the destination of the banished from kingdoms of worlds forgotten upon entering this place of nothingness. But one day, a group of newly banished people managed to bring with them a few individuals with the rare ability to split light from darkness and life from death. These "Voidsplitters," as they were called, could create a habitable realm within the void, safe from the consuming emptiness. They split the void and gave birth to the realm they named Rakasa, a place of light and life. But when void is split, darkness and death must come as well. Light orbs and their connecting barriers were designed to shut out the world of darkness surrounding them. Never exploring or even questioning what lay beyond the many layers of barriers encompassing Rakasa, like the rings of a tree trunk, the people lived hundreds of years in peace.
There were, however, a few who knew what they truly did to create Rakasa, the impact it would have on the void outside the barriers, and the wars that would come as a result. And so, even hundreds of years after the keepers' of these secrets left this realm, the people of Rakasa were guided to embrace hunting and war.

Chapter One: The Hunt for Glory (Game One)
"The Life Crossing Festival is upon us. Your day of glory has arrived! Rejoice and ready your blade!"
300 years passed since the creation of the realm known as Rakasa. Within the first 50 years, the leaders of Rakasa realized shutting out all dangers of Rakasa caused their lands to become weak to the point they nearly died off. In the 47th year (post creation), the annual Life Crossing Festival began. Light orbs and their connecting defense barriers surrounding the very core of Rakasa were purposefully broken to allow life to travel freely within the more central realms of Rakasa. Within the years to come, plants sufficiently cross pollinated, monsters evolved to withstand the slight increase of danger, and Hunter-Warriors began taking this opportunity to increase their might by conquering monsters normally locked away.
From the defeated monsters' carcasses, hunters carved spoils infused with the monsters' essence (or life force) and forged these parts into their own equipment. Through animal sacrifices and great battles, these warriors also expanded their own capacities to absorb and wield their personal essence. As the Hunter-Warriors evolved and increased in strength, they became more daring and the glorious hunt of the Mahakasai began. Orbs, specifically locking a single Mahakasa out of the common realm of Rakasa, were hidden through out the land. When broken, a single Mahakasa of random strength would enter the common world for battling. At the close of the Life Crossing Festival (and the resealing of the lands), the warrior with the greatest Mahakasa hunting trophies was declared the Holiest of Hunters and the Mightiest of Warriors.
With the passing of every year, hunting and battling intertwined even deeper and tighter into the Rakasian way of life.

Yet another Life Crossing Festival arrives, but there is more than strong monsters hiding behind the orb defenses. The time has come to use those hunting and battling skills for more than just claiming Mahakasa trophies.
Chapter Three: The Light and Lies
"Bind those Rakasians to oblivion! May this curse of death and darkness be turned back on their own lands!"
