Hello Family and Friends!
We've received a lot of inquires as to how AX 2015 went. It wasn't pretty and you can find all the details in the email we sent to the people over our area at AX. For obvious reasons, well out of the control of Trivatch, we didn't sell many games in the situation explained in the email. Some ask us "how are you going to sell all those games you didn't sell at AX?" We only could possibly have had 100 games there to sell and, therefore, we could only have possibly sold 100 games by the end. At best, that would have been 1/5 of all our games. Our focus and plans after AX were never to be done selling when we got back--because another 400 games were coming! The bulk of our sales, the bigger plans and projects were always set for after AX. AX was just our kickoff of selling officially, we hoped for better, we're past that now though, and are selling officially.
So what's next? Well, "We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we're curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths." We also peruse the future of Trivatch without shame or fear and we will see our company standing strong. Here's what's in store over the next 6 weeks - 8 weeks:
Hunter Hut App
At AX 2015, we discovered people love our apps and recent additions of technology for tracking the ongoing player experience. We will be taking this to a level far beyond our thrown together apps at AX. We are developing an app that will allow players to earn, track, manage, spend, and send each other Trivatch Gems, the currency used at our events and in our future apps. In the app, players will also be able to unlock, track, train, and trade skills introduced in our new PVP (Player versus Player) mode. The app will also keep track of player achievements, inventory, and statuses including guild memberships. Users will also be able to post to a community message board and send each other private messages. Different contests and other random little fun things will also be included in the app. All of our apps will be Android based at first. This might seem like we're missing a huge portion of the market, but we've found that most of our gamers and event attendees use Android over Apple (10 to 1). And regardless of this overwhelming presence of Android holders, we aren't ready to develop for Apple yet, even if we wanted to include that minority of user.
Advanced Questing Mode App
We will be providing new adventures for players to use their Skills in, to grow in rank, and earn more gems. In the Advanced Questing Mode, players will be able to load new adventures with new challenges and bosses capable of utilizing AI not easily managed outside of an app. Players will be able to take their hard earned PVP Skills (normally used to attack other players) and work together with friends to complete different quests that are played on their Legends of Rakasa board game, but enhanced with digital content.
New Local Out Reach
Along with contacting all of our networks on facebook, twitter, kickstarter, weebly, etc., we will be starting up our game night at our local game store, Crazy Squirrel Games. We are currently discussing plans for this routine game night. The focus will be teaching players Rakasa through playing Chapters 1 and 2 of the 5 Introductory Chapters of Legends of Rakasa and PVP tournaments. We have been putting off any local activities until we had games to place in Squirrel Games. Our game will be in the store and we are getting ready to build a strong local following.
Sac Anime
Though we feel a bit burned by Anime Expo 2015, we have been to several other conventions whose attendees loved playing Rakasa and will continue to reach out to these fans regardless of AX 2015. Our next big event is in 8 weeks at Sac Anime. Because a lot of the technology we are developing was either designed right before AX 2015 or even during AX 2015, Sac Anime will be the first convention we attend with our new apps and other technology. We'll be rolling out the new apps here locally as they are completed and Sac Anime will be the first event outside of the Fresno area where the focus of the convention is tied to the player progression in our new system. We are also looking at automating the introductory chapters 1 and 2 so players can sit down and be led digitally through these games without having to read instructions and without us having to lead the games. This will free us up a bit to improve the overall convention experience for everyone.
These projects, along with further balancing of the PVP skills, streamlining and packaging what we do at conventions and other events, and other miscellaneous tasks (like possible negotiations with the leaders of AX 2015) are just a few of the things we'll be working on over the next 6 to 8 weeks. We are currently open for business on Amazon and on Trivatch.com. We have not yet made our official announcement of selling on Amazon or Trivatch.com because, though open, we are still tweaking things. We'll be in the Squirrel Games store next week.
Much Gratitude!
Thank you for your interest in Trivatch's development! Even with all of our plans and projects in the works, we are always open new ideas and suggestions. So feel free to leave a comment below! Your name and contact info is not required, so can even submit an anonymous comment if you wish! Thank you for your love and support as we continue this journey! It has been a wonderful adventure and we are excited about the new chapter we are entering as game developers building an entertainment company.
Love,
Team Trivatch
