Trivatch has been very deliberate in what we have added to the core of Rakasa, which started as just cards and game board tiles. We upped the components when we felt doing so would revolutionize how people could play. People have long asked "what about an app?" And aside from our battle calculator, we weren't introducing apps with Rakasa. That's about to change!
We tested out at AX 2015 a few technology leaps we will be making in the next month or so. Below is a run down of some of the tech fans of Rakasa can look forward to downloading for free. We've decided to make this move now because we realized to really create the MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) feel we always envisioned Rakasa having, technology would be the best tool for connecting players and managing gamer assets. Rakasa will be the first of its kind MMORPBG (Massive Multiplayer Online/Offline Role Playing Board Game).
Player vs Player
We have a PVP (Player vs Player) system we began to roll out at AX 2015. It was awesome and is only getting better! We are super excited about this new way of playing in Rakasa. Once finalized, this add-on will be available with its physical components for purchase on Trivatch.com and the digital version (in the form of an app) will be free for download!
Hunter's Hut App
At AX 2015, we discovered people love our apps and recent additions of technology for tracking the ongoing player experience. We will be taking this to a level far beyond our simple apps at AX. We are developing an app that will allow players to earn, track, manage, spend, and send each other Trivatch Gems, the currency used at our events and in our future apps. In the app, players will also be able to unlock, track, train, and trade skills introduced in our new PVP (Player versus Player) mode. The app will also keep track of player achievements, inventory, and statuses including guild memberships. Users will also be able to post to a community message board and send each other private messages. Players will also be able to create and manage their own tournaments that can include Gem entry fees and player winnings from a Gem pool. Different contests and other random little fun things will also be included in the app.
Advanced Questing Mode App
We will be providing new adventures for players to use their Skills in, to grow in rank, and earn more gems. In the Advanced Questing Mode, players will be able to load new adventures with new challenges and bosses capable of utilizing AI not easily managed outside of an app. Players will be able to take their hard earned PVP Skills (normally used to attack other players) and work together with friends to complete different quests that are played on their Legends of Rakasa board game, but enhanced with digital content.
All of our apps will be Android based at first. We aren't ready to develop for Apple yet (or Windows Mobile). But even if you don't own an android device, you can still join in the fun. Your gamer data is stored off the android device and called using Hunter Keys (tokens with a QR code). So if your at one of our events or have a friend with an android device, you can scan your token, manage your assets, logout, and be on your way gaming. With just a Hunter Key number, gamers will also be able to earn gems in different ways on our website and in other places. All you need is a hunter key to play! Tokens will be available in the Trivatch Points Exchange, we will pass them out for free at the events we are at, and at the launch of the Hunter's Hut app, you can even request codes to be emailed to you.
We have been holding off on throwing technology into the mix and are very excited about this step towards building Legends of Rakasa into the game we've pictured it being since day one.
